Artist Statement

Kasaundra Couch (any/all) is an artist and a true experimentalist. And as a true experimentalist, they barely have any idea what is going on at any point in their life, ever. They work in a variety of disciplines, exploring a multitude of mediums. Nothing that raises a curious flag is safe from being artistically interrogated. No matter the medium, they embody the punk ethos and being fully DIY- why afford something expensive, when you can make it with stuff found in a dumpster?

Currently based in the Bay Area, they were raised in an unstable household spanning 9 states. They learned how to lose themselves to exploration and curiosity from a young age. Unending hunger for knowledge and the deep desire to share it has shaped them- play in the dirt, run around, cry violently. Catharsis doesn’t come easy.

Within their career it has allowed them to have an expansive exploratory portfolio. They graduated with a degree in Directing for live theatre at a college in the southern U.S., took playwriting classes at a prominent regional theatre in California, and is looking to expand their horizons further afield into mid-career territory.

Their most recent work explores communality and salvation within a punk club bathroom.

You can find them at W.O.R.M. @ BFF.fm playing local Bay Area modern punk music and daylighting as a worm.
